I began this role during the 2024 general election and have since reported on dane county, wisconsin's politics, city and county programs and services, the governing bodies, and how policies impact the community at large in madison, the capital city.

public safety

keeping an eye on the police department and sheriff's office, what the agencies are doing to keep residents safe, and what challenges they face in doing so.

programs and services

social services are the bedrock of a good local government. what are the departments that deal with the aging, disabled, and bilingual communities doing and where are they falling short?

local governance

the city hall is filled with stories that elected leaders aren't telling, but those who do are cherished for their transparency of the insider politics that fuels city council and the county board.

power of the people

madison is known for its progressive politics, but do people really live up to the name? what are the people saying and doing to hold leaders accountable and what more do they want? what movements are on the ground right now and what is their power?
